For advancement of the department, it takes continuous major steps by way of organising seminars, debates, group discussions, subject based quiz programmes, etc.

Observing International Mother’s Language Day, Rabindra Jayanti, Fresher’s Welcome, Farewell ceremony of the outgoing students etc.

Particularly for better writing skill on the part of students the department arranges creative writing competitions. Apart from that, to inspire the students in terms of literary interest, the department publishes a bi-annual Wall Magazine named SUCHETANA. To enhance student’s creativity and literary senses department arranges story reading and poetry reading events. To enhance students’ personality and class management skill development, department organises peer learning sessions yearly.

Apart from the existence of Central Library, the department has a Seminar Library of its own to cater the additional need of the students of the department.
